What to bring: notebook, pen, apron

Create a botanical print on cotton cloth using a flower mallet (flower pounding / tataki-zome). In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to arrange fresh petals and leaves, choose suitable fabrics, and safely hammer natural pigments into cloth to make unique, lasting botanical impressions. All materials provided. Suitable for beginners; no prior experience required. Walk away with large flour sack tea towels and the skills to recreate the technique at home. This workshop has been changed from printing a tablecloth to printing flour sack tea towels due to space restrictions.
