The brief to Ablock Builders, which had handled design co-ordination and construction for the Rose-Innes’ across 15 years of renovation projects, was to create an Australian farmhouse - weatherboard, Monument roof, verandahs — “with a few quirks added to it”.(Ablock has since moved wholly into garden structures and outbuildings as The Garden Cupboard.)
